Notetaking functionality

I just read about Quotepad,a Windows program which will automatically take a note from highlighted text if hit Ctrl+Shift+Q.

I was wondering if there was a way to get a similar function with Tomboy notes, or if any other Linux program included this functionality? I can see how it would be dead useful, and the sort of thing which and advanced clipboard manager might handle automatically.

The Opera browser has that functionality (ctrl+shift+c)with its built-in note panel, but of course, it only works in the browser.

I've used Klipper - it copies whatever I select and holds it, along with four or five preious selections. At least, that was the functionality of the applet in KDE 3.5. I have no idea if KDE 4.1 has a version of it, nor how it works.

Klipper works with all programs and Desktop Environments, so I'm sure it would work with Tomboy.

(yet! I will drag my desktop to a high speed area! Someday.)

The only thing I've heard of is a Tomboy Extension for Firefox - but that's only if you're sending things from the web to Tomboy.
