Shocked this hasn't already been posted!
Show us a picture of your desktop and what's running; what distro you're running, any reasons behind weird configurations, if you're using conky or an app launcher, anything.
I'm going to dive right in and post mine. I upgraded from Hardy to Jaunty a few days ago so I haven't really had time to mess about with mine. I normally use a gdevilspie'd TweetDeck functioning as my background but I'm too lazy to install AIR at the moment!
Feel free to make any suggestions or ask any questions.

If you're going to post a pic then please use a thumbnail or use a link. Thanks!

The bar at the bottom is Avant Window Navigator which is my favorite tweek. The dude is Jared Padalecki, of Supernatural.

Ubuntu 8.10. Nothing special. My computer is on the older side, so I'm leery of trying to make it do anything funky.

Running Jaunty with AWN for the dock. My panel is normally on auto-hide since the extra space is usually more useful.
I used Emerald before I updated but I haven't bothered to go back and set it up again. I also tried to get conky working but for some reason it refused to go lower than an inch above my dock.
Oh, and the girl in my wallpaper is Gwendolyn from Odin Sphere.

This picture will disappear when geocities does, I guess.
KDE 4.2 on OpenSuse 11.1. Plasmoids include a notepad, temperature monitor, dynamic picture frame that cycles through a folder of pictures, and a boring FolderView that just displays my ~/Desktop folder.
Desktop is an HDR photo of Central Park.
Note the KRunner in the middle of the screen, my primary method for launching programs.

So the default one that comes up, which I made is this:

And one of the ones on the other side of the cube that didn't get pictured in the first image is this:

I'm not upgraded to Jaunty yet, because I'm made of fail and never even got upgraded to Intrepid.

Using Ubuntu Jaunty. I use stumpwm because I'm finding that I always screw up where to click with my mouse, and thus general navigation is easier for me with a keyboard. I also always like making things full screen, and thus I like that there's nothing but the window in question using this.
I guess the only other weird thing is that I had to purge anything gnome or KDE related to do the upgrade to Jaunty, as when I partitioned my hard drive years ago I didn't give it enough room, and I don't want to have to go through the work to make it bigger. I haven't bothered to put anything back, although I'm kind of missing the gnome terminal, because of the tabs.

This is antiX M8 base with Fluxbox, conky, and shiny rainbow Audacious.
