Displaying all open windows in Unity

One thing that annoyed me when I upgraded to Natty and gave a try to Unity was the slowness and difficulty to switch between windows. I'm a multitasker, and I like to hop between Firefox, OpenOffice and a game or two.

I got this really neat trick from a French blog:

First, you need to install the configuration panel for Compiz, if you haven't already:

$ sudo apt-get install compizconfig-settings-manager

Open it: Shut Down menu on the top right > System settings > CompizConfig Settings Manager.

Under the Window Management tab, click on Scale.

Under the Bindings tab, activate Window Picker for your screen, and choose where you want it to be. I chose the bottom left corner, but of course you might find some place else to be more useful for you.

Now when you move your mouse to the bottom left corner, all the open windows appear on your screen, allowing you to switch easily.

I hope you found this trick useful! Let me know if something was unclear :)

It sounds absolutely insane that there's not an easy way to see and switch between open windows by default!
