Just the other day, I accidentally deactivated wireless on Ubuntu 12.04, though I now wonder if it happened while I was updating?? I was fretting for seconds until I realized I had to activate it again by hitting the keyboard wireless key.

Just in case it's the same issue, I thought I'd throw it out there :)
